Can I use PeopleGlass if I do not have Salesforce?

Currently, PeopleGlass only works for Salesforce users with API access. If you do not have a Salesforce account with API access, you cannot use PeopleGlass.

How many of my API calls does PeopleGlass use?

PeopleGlass attempts to keep the number of API calls to an absolute minimum. Calls are only made when you are using the app to fetch the relevant data as necessary. We have not experienced an issue with users hitting their organizational API limits.

Does PeopleGlass bypass MFA or SSO?

PeopleGlass will obey any MFA or SSO settings you have set up with your Salesforce instance. Salesforce handles all SSO requirements.

For example, if your company uses a third-party authentication app such as Okta, you will need to select "Custom Domain" on the login page and type in the domain for your account. Then you will be redirected to use your SSO provider.

If you are using Sandbox Replica, click the blue "Click Here" text next to "Logging in with a Sandbox Account?" Note that sometimes your Sandbox account may look very similar to your production account, particularly if they use the same email.

How does PeopleGlass interact with Salesforce and third-party authenticators?

PeopleGlass uses Salesforce SSO for authentication, meaning it follows the Salesforce OAUTH protocol defined by each organization's Salesforce admin or IT team. If SSO via Okta is enforced on your Salesforce, then the Salesforce OAUTH process will also enforce it.

If you would like to prompt users to go through Okta after they install the Chrome extension, please reach out to your organization's Salesforce admin or IT department to implement Okta on the Salesforce side.

I got an error saying "this app is blocked by admin." What now?

Please reach out to your organization's IT admin and ask them what the security protocols are.

While they might not have blocked PeopleGlass specifically, our app might not have met their security standards, which is why it was blocked. We are happy to address any security concerns and provide additional documentation if needed.

If you are stuck on the loading page, check the URL to identify the error. If PeopleGlass has been blocked by your admin, it will indicate that in the URL.

Data Privacy and Security

How does PeopleGlass interact with a user’s data?

PeopleGlass DOES NOT store any data from your Salesforce instance. All of the data lives on within your Salesforce instance, not on our servers. Only metadata (e.g. field names) for analytics and support purposes is tracked.

For example: PeopleGlass stores field names for each sheet (e.g. Next Steps), but we do not store the corresponding data ("8/25 - Call with John...").

PeopleGlass also tracks user updates but ONLY track field-level changes, not data-level changes (same as the above example).

For example, PeopleGlass tracks that a user has made an update to Next Steps on 8/15 at 8:30AM, but not what those changes are.
