Getting Started with PeopleGlass
Updated over a week ago

PeopleGlass is a lightweight, spreadsheet-like tool that enables users to accelerate Salesforce productivity through lightning-quick editing and updating of Salesforce records, all within an easy-to-use interface.

With PeopleGlass, you can easily view and update CRM data, share Sheets, collaborate with colleagues, and much more! The best part? Getting started only takes a few clicks!

Prerequisites

Make sure you have a valid Salesforce User License with API access. PeopleGlass works by authenticating into your Salesforce environment, so a license is required to establish that connection. Don't currently have a Salesforce license? No problem! Please reach out to your IT team to receive a license or upgrade.

Whether you prefer to use the PeopleGlass web application or Chrome extension, the below information is everything you need to know to get started.

After ensuring you have the prerequisites above, follow the next steps to configure and start using PeopleGlass

PeopleGlass is a browser-native tool accessed as a Chrome extension or through a Web Application interface. While both allow similar functionality, configuring the Chrome extension keeps the tool at your fingertips by populating the tool on any newly opened tabs.

Install Chrome Extension

1. Navigate to the PeopleGlass Chrome extension web store page.

2. Click Add to Chrome. Please note that PeopleGlass will override any existing new tab extensions upon installation.

3. You will see a pop-up that says, "Did you mean to change this page?" Click Keep it to ensure PeopleGlass continues to open as designed.

4. Authenticate into the desired Salesforce environment using your Salesforce account credentials.

5. Success!

Web Application Installation

1. Navigate to glass.people.ai/.

2. If you intend to connect to a standard production (non-sandbox) Salesforce account, start by clicking the large blue Continue with Salesforce button. From there, fill in your Salesforce credentials as you usually would to log in.

2b. If you'd like to connect to a sandbox account, use the Click here link below large blue button to start the sandbox authentication process.

3. If your organization uses a third-party auth provider such as Okta for logging into Salesforce, click Use Custom Domain on the Salesforce login page and enter your company's custom domain to continue.

3b. If you don't know your organization's custom domain, log into Salesforce directly through your company's third-party auth service and then return to PeopleGlass.

4. Once you've logged into Salesforce using this method, you should see your username saved through the PeopleGlass authentication flow.

You are now ready to unlock new levels of productivity from Salesforce data through PeopleGlass!
