Backstory account creation is the first step to accessing Backstory's revenue answers platform, which helps you track activity, manage pipelines, and gain insights. Your company’s Backstory admin will send you an invitation email to set up your account.
Create Your Backstory Account
These steps walk you through activating your account using the invitation email sent by your administrator. You will set your password and log in for the first time.
Prerequisites: You must have received a Backstory invitation email from your administrator before completing these steps.
Open the invitation email from Backstory in your inbox.
Click Accept Invitation in the email body.
Enter your name in the Full Name field on the account setup page.
Enter a password in the Password field.
Re-enter your password in the Confirm Password field.
Click Create Account.
Enter your work email address and password on the login page.
Click Log In.
Note: If your company has configured SSO with Backstory, you may not need to set a password during account creation.

What should I do if I did not receive an invitation email?
Check your spam or junk folder first. If the email is not there, contact your Backstory administrator and ask them to resend the invitation.
Can I sign up for Backstory on my own without an invitation?
No. Backstory accounts are created and managed by your company's administrator. Reach out to your admin to request access.
What are the password requirements for my account?
Passwords must be at least 8 characters long and include a mix of uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters.
Can I use single sign-on (SSO) instead of a password?
Yes, if your company has configured SSO with Backstory. In that case, your administrator will guide you through the SSO login process, and you may not need to set a password during account creation.
What happens after I create my account?
After logging in, you will be prompted to connect your work email and calendar so Backstory can begin capturing your sales activity automatically.
