Introduction to Backstory

Updated today

Backstory connects to the tools your sales team already uses — email, calendar, CRM, and more — and automatically pulls in your customer activity. It then analyzes that information to give you a clear, accurate picture of what's happening across your deals and pipeline. Instead of piecing together updates from multiple sources or relying on gut instinct, you get straightforward answers based on real data, so you can make better decisions and focus your energy where it matters most.

Activity Capture

Automatic activity capture continuously pulls data from your emails and calendar and enriches your CRM records without manual activity logging. This data combines with Backstory’s engagement data to provide a complete picture of deal health and activity.

Backstory Platform

The Backstory Platform monitors your sales activity, spots when deals are at risk, and tells you exactly what to do next. Those answers appear in the Backstory app and in the tools your team already uses, like Slack and Salesforce. You can also ask the Backstory Assistant follow-up questions in plain language to dig deeper.

ClosePlan

ClosePlan extends Backstory’s capabilities by giving you a structured way to run deals from start to finish. Scorecards assess deal health, Playbooks guide you through best-practice steps, and Relationship Maps visualize the buying committee. Account Plans extend this same approach to long-term account strategy.

Admin Panel

The Admin Panel is the central settings hub in Backstory where administrators configure and manage user accounts, data connections, and CRM synchronization.
