Download a HAR File

A HAR (HTTP Archive) file records your browser’s network activity while you reproduce a technical issue. Backstory Support may request this file to help pinpoint the root cause of the problem.


Download a HAR File (Chrome)

  1. In Chrome, navigate to the page where the issue occurs.

  2. Right-click anywhere on the page and select Inspect to open DevTools.

  3. In the top toolbar, click the Network tab.

    • If you don’t see it, click » to show hidden tabs.

  4. Select the Preserve log checkbox.

  5. Click the Clear icon (⦸) to remove existing network entries.

  6. Reproduce the issue while the Network tab records activity.

  7. After reproducing the issue, click the Export HAR icon (a downward arrow).

  8. Save the file and attach it to your support request.
